To provide our short-term rental services, we may collect:

• Contact information. Name, email address, phone number.
• Booking details. Arrival and departure dates, number of guests, and any special requests.
• Usage data. Information on how you access and use the website (e.g. browser type, pages visited) to improve our service.
• Welcome-offer signup. If you ask us to email you a discount code, we store your email address together with the date, a one-way hash of your IP address and the exact consent wording you saw — our proof of consent under Costa Rican law (Ley 8968).

3. How we use your information

We use your data solely for the following purposes:

• To process your booking inquiries and confirm reservations.
• To communicate with you regarding your stay (e.g. check-in instructions and local guides).
• To comply with legal obligations (e.g. local tax regulations and guest registration).
• To send you the discount code you requested — a single transactional email.
• To send occasional offers and news only if you ticked the optional box when you gave us your email. You can withdraw this at any time.

4. Payment security

We do not store your credit card or financial information on our servers. We use trusted third-party payment processors to handle all financial transactions.

When you make a payment, your data is encrypted and processed directly by the payment provider in strict compliance with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). We only receive a confirmation that the payment was successful to finalize your booking.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We may share information only in these limited cases:

• Service providers. Trusted partners who assist in operating our property (e.g. cleaning services, property management), strictly for the purpose of fulfilling your stay.

8. Marketing emails & discount codes

Asking for a discount code is not a newsletter subscription. We send the code and nothing else, unless you ticked the optional consent box.

• Unsubscribe from any marketing email through the link at its foot, or by writing to hola@noricr.com — it takes effect immediately.
• Deletion. Ask us and we remove your address from our list entirely.
• Retention. We keep signup records for 24 months after your last interaction, then delete them. Consent records are kept for as long as we hold the address, as proof of consent.
• No sharing. The list stays with us. We do not sell or rent addresses, and we do not pass them to advertising networks.
